Buy, Buy!
Shop till you drop - tomorrow! The Big 3 and Kohl's are all having fabulous sales tomorrow. Dillard's is taking an additional 40% off the marked down price, the only way it gets better is when they do an additional 50% off, but that only happens once or twice a year. You have to be a credit cardholder to get the additional discount tomorrow, for non credit cardholders the sale begins Thursday. If you're a Penney's credit cardholder, you should have gotten a sale catalog in the mail this week with a surprise discount of 10, 20 or 30%. I got a 30% discount in mine, so I'll be heading there too tomorrow. Kohl's also has a similar discount offer to credit cardholders and I, again, received a 30% off discount there tomorrow through October 5th. In addition you get $10 Kohl's cash for every $50 you spend. While I don't have the details, I know Macy's is also having large sale tomorrow. It's a great time to shop one last time the summer clearance and put your finds away till next spring and to shop the new fall looks and get them on a discount. If I have any luck, I'll post my finds in the next couple days! And if you don't have time to make it into the store in person, try shopping online. The discounts are good on their websites as well as in person and some stores are also offering specials on shipping. I know Kohl's is currently offering 99 cent shipping per item and Macy's offers free shipping on purchases that total $99 or more, otherwise, shipping still only costs a flat-fee $8 per order. I don't know if I'm going to be able to sleep tonight, I'm going to have visions of bargains dancing in my head! I'll be shopping in Fairview Heights tomorrow morning as soon as the stores open so look for me. Where will you be shopping? If you make it out and snag a great buy, remember to share with me here!

SALE ALERT!
Dillard's is clearancing stock at rock bottom prices. This weekend (starting today for non credit card holders) most every marked down item is an additional 40% off! This is my favorite time to buy at Dillard's. I got a gorgeous Cole Haan nude colored leather purse for right at $100! Regular price was over $200, it was marked down to around $175 and then with the additional 40% off it came to right over $100 with tax. I also bought an Antonio Melani (Dillard's store brand) black leather (faux reptile finish) purse for about $30, regular price was around $150 and it was 65% off of that at $55 and then the additional 40% off of that (and hey, don't check my math and complain that I'm off, I don't have my receipt in front of me so I'm going from memory and that may be slightly off)! Fantastic buys nonetheless and two great purses to take in to the fall! I scored! If I get a chance I'll post photos of my purchases later! Check back!

HE SHOPS, HE SCORES
So, I took my husband John over to Dillard's Friday night. He needed "hiking" shoes and we thought we'd see what they had on clearance. He got a pair of Ecco hikers that were regularly priced at $135, marked down to $59 and with the additional 40% off they came to just $36, that's almost $100 off!!! The sale's over now, so you won't be able to capitalize this time around but heed the word the next time they run the sale (oh, cause they will again) and run straight there to get in on those great buys!

SHE SHOPS, SHE SCORES!
Went over to South County this morning for my retail therapy. At Macy's I got a pair of Style and Co. boot cut jeans for $18.00, they were 60% off regular price. I also bought a Charter Club traditional V-neck cardigan in red for $3 and something and a Cha Cha Vente (don't you just love that name brand, I had to buy it for that alone) tank with crocheted neck for $4 something. Then I got an additional 20% off that with a coupon card I had in my wallet so all three pieces came to just about $20. But wait, that wasn't even my best buy at Macy's. I went downstairs to the home store and found DVD players on clearance. A Haier (I'm not saying the best brand but it'll work for the price) DVD player that was orig. $49.99 was marked down to $29.99 and then there was an additional 40% off the marked down price so I got it for just $17.99! They wouldn't let me use my coupon for an additional 15% off because it was an electronics. Watcha gonna do. Just the right price for putting it down at our weekend cabin we are purchasing (yeah, I'll tell you more about that after we close next week and its really ours). Ok, back to shopping. Then I headed to Dillard's and got a pair of sterling silver and stone (the blue one can't remember the name of it) earrings for $4. Then a friend called to meet me for lunch so I didn't get to finish shopping there (maybe I'll go back tonight but the hubby wants to go to Rural King and see the bunnies and chicks but that's another story too). After lunch I made a quick trip over to JC Penney because I had a coupon for $10 off a purchase of $10 or more. Found the cutest Navy with white polka dots short sleeve blouse for spring (and it'll look great under that red cardigan from Macy's) for $14.99 minus the $10 coupon and it cost me all of $5. I told you I scored!!!

RETAIL THERAPY
My mother-in-law has moved to town and has been having some health problems so I've been taking her to a lot of doctor's appointments and dialysis treatments lately. Plus, my dad's health has not improved. So I'm in need of a little retail therapy. I'm headed shopping tomorrow. Dillard's is taking an additional 40% off the marked down price and I think it continues tomorrow, or at least I hope so. And Macy's has a sale that's starting tomorrow. I wish West County had a Dillard's. I can't decide if I should do Dillard's at South County and Macy's there and at West County or whether I should just head to Galleria where I'll find both. Either way, I'll let you know what kind of deals I find. I signed up for Macy's "Giving" program at the holidays and just got my "rebate/kick back" in the mail and its burning a whole in my pocket. Its a great deal for those of you that aren't aware of it. You make a contribution of I think $20 which is donated to charities (you're told which ones but I can't remember right now) and you get 10% off all of your purchases through the end of December (I signed up for it around Thanksgiving) and then you get a gift card for 10% of your total purchases during that time. My total kick back was around $100 so it was well worth my $20 investment and now I have money to spend on new spring clothes . . . or shoes . . . or handbag - decisions, decisions! See you when I get back from shopping : )

MY HUSBAND'S EDGY!
Yes, that's right, I've been told that my husband is edgy. And do you know what makes him edgy? His cologne. Who knew? I had no idea that a person became "edgy" by the cologne they choose to wear. All we did was stop at the men's cosmetics counter at Dillard's at Galleria to pick him up a new travel size cologne. A couple months back we had picked him up some Hugo Boss XY cologne at Dillard's at St. Clair Square when it was take an additional 40% off the already marked down 75% off price. With it they gave him a sample of Dirty English cologne. He liked it and decided he wanted to get some of it. So that is what we asked for at Galleria Saturday. The sales clerk, who was very nice, asked if we knew that was by Juicy Couture. Who knew? But we said yes, what did it matter? She seemed surprised, she had sized us up and I don't think we looked "the type" to her. Who knew, we just liked how it smelled! So she then informed him that he was "edgy" because of that choice. And since he was game she said she had a couple new fragrances that were even "edgier". What makes them edgy? I couldn't let on that I didn't know, so we played along. Well, something by Quicksilver and The Beat by Burberry we were told were "edgier". We just thought the Burberry one smelled nicer and they were all about the same price so we chose "The Beat". She was impressed with my husband's "edginess". Heck, by now, I WAS impressed with my husband's "edginess" and I never even knew he had it! Good thing she was there to enlighten me. By the way, for the rest of you that are of my age, we were informed that "edgy" is today's version of yesterday's "cool". So beware, the next time you are in the company of my husband, you are in the presence of "edginess". I guess I'm going to have to go in search of my "edginess".

SALE ALERT
My sister called me at 7:50 a.m. this morning: "Dillard's is taking an additional 40% off the marked down price on just about everything (if not everything) in the store!" The sale started today and I believe runs at least through Saturday or Sunday. I made a quick run over to South County this morning to check it out! In just over an hour I walked out with 3 pair of shoes for under $40 total, 2 belts for under $15 total (both leather, one a Fossil brand that was orig. $48) and 3 tops for about $30 total (one Ralph Lauren, one Nygard and one store brand). I called a friend in O'Fallon about the sale, she ran to St. Clair Mall and came out with 3 pair of shoes for her husband (Cole Haan and Johnston & Murphey) and 6 pairs for herself (a fair and equitable share, it was her time afterall :) NOW GO SHOP!!!
